There is no single Chinese clothing size chart that converts every brand to US sizes. An S, M or L can describe different measurements across labels, and two styles from the same brand can fit differently. Start with the chart for the exact item, check what its measurements mean, then compare them with your body or a similar garment you already wear.
1. Check what the chart is measuring
Body measurements describe the person the size is intended to fit. Garment measurements describe the clothing itself. A garment's dimensions also reflect its cut, stretch and intended room for movement, so the two are not interchangeable.
Also check whether bust, waist and hip values are full circumferences or widths measured flat. If a chart explicitly gives a flat chest width of 45 cm, doubling it gives an approximate 90 cm circumference. If the chart already says 90 cm circumference, do not double it. This is a measurement example, not a recommended size.
When a chart does not make the units or measurement method clear, contact us with the product link before choosing a size.
2. Convert centimeters and inches
One inch equals 2.54 cm. Divide centimeters by 2.54 to get inches, or multiply inches by 2.54 to get centimeters. The table below converts measurements only; it does not assign US dress sizes.
| Centimeters | Inches, rounded |
|---|---|
| 60 cm | 23.6 in |
| 70 cm | 27.6 in |
| 80 cm | 31.5 in |
| 90 cm | 35.4 in |
| 100 cm | 39.4 in |
| 110 cm | 43.3 in |
3. Compare like-for-like measurements
For a body-size chart, measure your bust around its fullest point, your waist at its natural narrowest point and your hips around their fullest point. Keep the tape level and comfortably close to the body.
For a garment-size chart, choose a similar piece that fits you well. Fasten it and lay it flat without stretching it, then follow the same measurement points shown in the product chart. Compare shoulder width, sleeves and length as well as bust, waist and hips. Use a garment with a similar cut and stretch for the most useful comparison.
4. Match the measuring method to the item
A fitted blouse
For the Asymmetric Shoulder Suit Blouse, check the blouse chart rather than the separate trouser chart. Confirm its measurement definitions, then compare the shoulders, bust, sleeves and length with a similar fitted top.
A dress with a fitted bodice
Check bust, waist and hip measurements against the chart for the exact dress. Consider lining, stretch and closures, then compare its length with a dress you already wear. Adjustable ties do not replace checking the bodice fit. If a measurement you need is missing, ask before ordering.
A coat worn over layers
For the Twill Wool A-Line Coat, confirm what the listed bust and waist ranges represent. Check the back length and leave room for the clothing you intend to wear underneath. Do not treat a range as a flat width without confirmation.
5. Decide what to do between sizes
Look at the measurement that is most likely to limit movement, then check the garment's construction. A fitted bodice, a tailored shoulder and a stretch waistband behave differently. Going up a size may add room but can also change neckline, shoulder and length proportions. If the chart does not resolve the choice, send us your measurements, the product link and your preferred fit.
Chinese clothing sizing questions
Do Chinese clothes run small?
Some styles have a closer fit, but there is no rule that applies to every Chinese label. Compare the specific measurements and cut instead of automatically ordering one size larger.
What is a Chinese medium in US sizing?
A medium has no fixed US equivalent across brands. Match the measurements for the exact product rather than relying on a universal conversion chart.
Does One Size fit everyone?
One Size means the item is offered in one size. Check its dimensions, stretch and intended shape to decide whether it will fit you.
Can I choose by the model's height and size?
Model information can help you judge proportions, but height alone does not show how a garment will fit your bust, waist or hips. Use the size chart as well.
